Demolition Take Down: Assemblages

Demolition Take Down is excited to be getting a €700k upgrade. The research we conducted for our Spark project with Creative Ireland is getting turbo-charged with this latest funding announcement from their Creative Climate Action Fund III. This investment is an opportunity to move from raising awareness to taking climate action by championing reuse over demolition. We believe this project is an import step to shift construction policy toward a more resilient future.

The project will be place specific working with Fingal County Council Arts Office and Planning Departments focussing on Balbriggan as a dedicated decarbonisation zone. The project aims to act as a template for utilising creative practice to:

  • improve carbon literacy among the public, construction industry professionals and local authorities

  • reducing construction and demolition waste at source and diverting from landfill

  • activating the Higher Education sector shape emerging cultures within the construction industry
